I was once told that it did not matter if the taste of food in a hotel was not as good as it did in a hawker center. Or if the price was 4 times higer…. it was the service that customer receives that costs…
I never understood why service was so important…. when i went out to eat i never took notice of service… except when i was starving… but now?? I take notice of every little service gesture….
ok so u guys know that I’ve been working at Orchard Hotel… or at least I have started…
I have gone for my first day of work and it was…. enlightening…. the cafe staff should get a reality check and trained…
The staff spends
40% of their time gossiping,
20% complaining about their job,
10% using their handphones,
10% eating and drinking behind the station and
10% walking around to avoid giving a 110% in their and the last
10% actually doing their work.
They also speak to one another in dialect in front of guys… on the floor…. how ignorant can you be??? Should you have just one language spoken when you are working..?? I mean hey, if u wan to speak spanish or tamil after work who cares!?! But at work, shouldn’t you only speak 1 language….??
The staff cares their work on their shoulders… so I’m surprised they can get any work done at all… Whatever happens at work should stay at work… if you don’t like the way someone works or if they don’t seem to be doing anything right… then tell them!! Don’t go around complaining like a parrot… and don’t yell at them cause it’s not telling them what they do wrong… No one is asking you to be friends with your colleage… no one is asking you to be nice… but no one is telling you to be two faced asshole… whatever happens at work should stay at work… whatever mistakes are done is done… don’t have to carry over to the next few weeks/months.
You know it’s like… you make a mistake… you get scolded for it… but after that you guys can laugh about it… know like, not carrying it on your shoulders….
Guests have to
leave their seat to ask for a waiter to take their order….
put their dirty plates on order tables because no one clears them…
walk from 1 station to another to ask for coffee/tea
leave their seat to ask waiters/waitress to clear their table….
Can you imagine?? It’s a wonder they even got 1 star…. ok maybe it’s because the rest of the hotel but come on!!!
Then…. they only have 1 person doing coffee/tea… while that person does coffee/tea behind the station, other people come in and regurgitate the list of orders from guests… geez!! do u think anyone can remember a christmas list of orders???!!! Use your brain!!! Of course if u have any…. I realise they had a whiteboard at the station…. why can’t they write down the order with the table number and then leave it on the white board??? Then the right number of coffee and teas can get to the right table…..
It’s like the place is a town for brainless lazy selfish gossiping roaches….
Yeah… i can gather that much from 1 day of work… and i don’t want to go back…. haha… and i won’t after the chalet… I refuse to subject myself to an environment with such minimal work ethic…
